University of Tartu and Tallinn University of Technology are seeking experienced and innovated TT Managers and welcome suitable qualified applications for the following 2 positions (one in Tartu and one in Tallinn), supported by a national programme financed through Enterprise Estonia.

The main tasks of those positions are raising of awareness of university scholars on IP issues (introducing best practices and case studies), coaching of TT management team, assistance in decision making on IP commercialisation strategy of inventions, commercialisation of IP (finding investors, partners, holding negotiations).

The successful candidates will play an important role in identifying and marketing universities` commercialisation opportunities and leading the Intellectual Property management activities in universities. Candidates must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in research (eg Computer Science, Material Science, Natural Science, Biomedicine, Technology) in addition to at least 5 years demonstrated research experience and/or industrial experience. PhD in science and technology is highly appreciated.

Experience in patenting, licensing and/or formation of spin-out/start up companies is essential. An understanding of commercial issues of research based technologies is also necessary. Candidates should be experienced in negotiating and demonstrate an ability to interact with industry, funders and the academic community alike. Demonstration of participation in partnerships and international networks of TT management and commercialisation including working with partners from industry, risk capital companies and business is a benefit.

Fluency in English is required.

The period of contract is 36 month, preferably starting in January or February 2012. The position is also available part-time, on condition that the suitable candidate agrees to stay and work in Estonia at least 20 hours per week.
