Financial Economist National Bank of Belgium

The Prudential Policy and Financial Stability Department of the National Bank of Belgium is currently recruiting a financial economist to conduct analysis in areas relating to banking, financial regulation, financial markets, systemic risk or macro-prudential policy. The mission of the department is to contribute to the identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks in the Belgian, and more generally the global, financial system, through the development of expertise at both the micro-prudential and macro-prudential levels. Staff are expected to undertake policy analysis and to interact with micro-prudential supervisors. They also contribute to the Bank's work within the European System of Central Banks and in international fora.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates should hold a Masters or Ph.D. in economics or finance. They should have good knowledge of banking and financial regulation, an interest in policy, have demonstrated research ability or practical financial sector experience, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates should also possess a working knowledge of French or Dutch.
