The Russell Group are seeking to appoint a senior, policy professional to further enhance their activities representing the UK’s leading research-intensive Universities. Reporting to the Director of Policy, this is an opportunity to be an integral part of this influential membership organisation.
As the backdrop to UK Higher Education changes, the ability of these leading institutions to maintain a cohesive voice about Government Policy and wider stakeholder affairs remains critical. Therefore, an outstanding individual will be appointed to assist members in sustaining and indeed growing their pivotal roles as the intellectual, social and economic life of the UK.
The role
This post manages a broad portfolio of analysis and policy development in areas such as research funding, innovation and Higher Education/ Business relationships. Central to this is the development of very high quality insight and documentation for a diverse audience. This will involve communicating the Group’s views and analysis via first class copy and the creation of robust relationships across a varied group of stakeholders.
The person
Academically strong, you will have policy development experience that has involved producing exceptional written material, coherently representing arguments on topical issues. You will be a confident ambassador who is able to withstand scrutiny of their work in a high profile, external environment. Your analytical and communication skills will be first class and you will not be fazed by working in a team-led, frenetic and vociferous environment. You will be ambitious, self starting and able to develop new ideas and lines of thinking that will enhance the contribution of the Russell Group to the UK and globally.
