Project Summary: The World Wildlife Fund is implementing a Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM) Policy Program with funding from USAID. The agreement is a direct award with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) through the Sustainable Conservation Approaches in Priority Ecosystems (SCAPES) Leader with Associates (LWA) Mechanism, which is managed as a cooperative agreement by USAID/Tanzania. The purpose of the award is to support WWF to implement environmental and natural resources policy programs at the national level and site based activities that strengthen CBNRM, through the application of the Wildlife Conservation Act (2009), Environmental Management Act (EMA), and Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) Regulations and Guidelines. In order to better understand progress of the program and results achieved to date, USAID/Tanzania would like to undertake a performance evaluation of the CBNRM program. Findings from the evaluation will also be used to contribute to the strategic thinking for the upcoming Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS), for the Tanzania Mission, and help identify how best to move forward with program support. MSI seeks qualified individuals to participate in this evaluation.
