We work with a wide variety of stakeholders across Europe, and collaborate extensively with our Regulator counterparts in other member states. Regulators have an important role in contributing to binding European legislation to develop a comprehensive framework for cross-border competition and infrastructure investment, to the benefit of GB and European consumers, and Ofgem takes a leading role in this.
This role will contribute to the development of appropriate European cross-border rules for electricity and gas infrastructure. Depending on your experience and expertise, the role may focus on European regulators’ policy in either the gas or electricity sectors.
You will be expected to engage with stakeholders (both independently and as part of a team) around particular policy issues, contribute to the development and drafting of internal and external deliverables and present updates to stakeholders, senior staff and team members. This is a diverse and inter-related area, therefore the ability to identify links and interactions between project areas and to manage a varied portfolio is essential.
Key Requirements:
  • educated to degree level, or equivalent professional qualification
  • proven analytical and research skills, with an ability to draft documents
  • experience in developing policy, in a public or commercial environment
  • ability to represent Ofgem in external meetings, with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • well developed communication skills
