Monitoring and Evaluation Manager - Internation Citizen Service (ICS)

The International Citizen Service (ICS) is an innovative youth programme that will see 7000 volunteers aged 18-25 work alongside in-country volunteers on projects aimed at improving lives of some of the poorest people in the world. VSO has the overall accountability for the ICS contract and will be the centre of a consortium comprising of nine member agencies, which will mean we’re responsible for learning, quality assurance and compliance across the consortium. You’ll be a crucial part of helping the team succeed.

The job

As monitoring and evaluation manager, you’ll be driving the development of our reporting framework and be at the forefront of ensuring we share and build on our knowledge and experience across the consortium as the contract progresses. You’ll lead across our team to implement the best monitoring and evaluation tools and work closely with both the quality and delivery areas to ensure best practise is integrated into programme design. You will be balancing the needs of a wide range of stakeholders, and the information you gather will be crucial in informing our communications strategy. With a data officer reporting to you, you won’t be alone in ensuring best practise is implemented across the programme.

You

You will have a solid background in quality assurance, monitoring, and its implementation. You will be able to analyse and convert large and complex amounts of data into plain English to demonstrate development outcomes. Technically, you’ll be very IT literate as well as having strong communication skills, which will enable you to write informed reports and build strong relationships.

Us

We’ve been working through volunteers to fight poverty for more than 50 years. In fact, we’re the leading organisation in the field. We work in almost 50 countries and we’re constantly exploring new ways to use the time, energy and skills of people to make a difference. Even if you know us, it’s worth checking out our website – we might not be the organisation you think we are.
