Founded in 1903, Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is the world’s longest-established international conservation organisation. Our vision is to create a sustainable future for the planet where biodiversity is conserved by the people living closest to it. We aim to do this through the conservation of threatened species and ecosystems worldwide, choosing solutions that are sustainable, based on sound science and take account of human needs. We operate primarily in developing countries where there is little capacity to conserve endangered and threatened habitats and species. We have become a trusted entity in the world of conservation. Today FFI is active in over 40 countries.
FFI is seeking a highly competent individual to provide technical specialist inputs to our reforestation and related forestry activities under the Helping Address Rural Vulnerabilities and Ecosystem STability Program (USAID-HARVEST) in the Tonle Sap basin in Cambodia.
The successful candidate will be experienced in reforestation and tropical habitat restoration, with a minimum of four years’ experience in natural resource management, conservation, forestry, or a related sector. S/he will have an MSc, or equivalent level qualification, in a relevant discipline. S/he will have demonstrable experience engaging with government, corporate and local partners at all levels. Ideally the successful candidate will have good technical understanding of what is needed to reforest areas of degraded land and of key concepts such as sustainable timber and fuel wood supply chains. Ideally s/he will be able to speak confidently on technical concepts with diverse audiences.
The individual must have a commitment to working in partnership with national staff and local communities to address key environmental issues.
