Technology Field Service Technician Caterpillar

Barloworld Equipment has been the Southern African dealer for Caterpillar products, offering a wide range of earthmoving solutions in the mining and construction industries since 1927. More recently we have been appointed as the dealer for Atlas Copco blasthole drills.

Barloworld Equipment has formed a dedicated group whose purpose it is to work with customers, Caterpillar, Atlas Copco and operations to develop sustainable and scalable technology solutions. Caterpillar is at the forefront of developing technology solutions for the mining and construction industries. Cat® Aquila Drill Management Products and the Cat® Computer-aided Earthmoving System (CAES), introduced in the early to mid-1990s, have become industry leaders. Caterpillar also offers the Cat® MineStar Fleet Management System, a mine-wide solution covering all aspects of production, material and machine tracking as well as product health.

The on-machine data acquisition and diagnostic Cat® Vital Information Management System (VIMS) has been fitted as standard on selected Caterpillar mining equipment since the mid-1990s.Technologies now available enable us to offer a range of telemetry solutions to wirelessly access the data.

Cat® Terrain products have recently been introduced and are fully integrated with MineStar Fleet Management Systems. We also have available an asset management solution called Cat® Product link which suits the majority of fleet management needs in the construction industry.

Site infrastructure and telemetry solutions form an integral part of our solution offerings.

Technology Field Service Technician

In this role you will carry out technology system maintenance on customer sites and deal quickly and efficiently with all customer technology system breakdowns. The compilation of accurate customer technology system analyses and effective self-management and performance ownership will also fall to you.

Requirements:

  • Industrial Instrumentation qualification
  • Preference for technological solutions
  • Interested in Auto Electrical systems
  • Interested in GPS and Radio Network solutions
  • Experience in Mining Technology Systems, such as Fleet Management and Grade Control.
