VSO Global Head of Institutional Funding

The Global Head of Institutional Funding – ODA and Foundations, plays a vital role; managing a talented and successful team to lead in development and implementation of VSO’s institutional funding strategy to achieve our ambitious growth targets. The successful candidate will play a vital role in delivering our Global Funding Plan and support all parts of VSO globally to deliver on institutional funding targets, and contribute to opening out new markets in the US and Brussels.

We are looking for an experienced and inspiring leader / manager who is capable of getting the most from a team, has strong international development and programme knowledge and an extensive understanding of the funding landscape. Leading VSO’s income from institutions and some of the larger global foundations, you will also play a key role within the global fundraising senior management team and be an effective link between fundraising and policy teams.


Required attributes: experienced leader, manager, funding manager and an excellent communicator. You will be comfortable leading by example in managing institutional donor relationships, managing and reporting on income and expenditure budgets, providing expert input on concept notes, proposals and plans, and have the entrepreneurial instincts to support the development of new areas of work. You will understand the complex environment in a global INGO, and be politically aware of the need for the highest level of relationship building both internally and externally to generate success.
