The Opportunity:
This position defines the overall Dell Solutions. With a focus on VDI and EUC this position works with the customer and Dell technical solutions teams to present on all aspects of Dell Wyse products and services. Working with the Solutions Sales teams to provide subject matter expertise.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic solution oriented Sales Engineer. Responsibilities include a combination of pre-sales consultation services, performing technical product demonstrations, project managing, proof of concept engagements, and thin computing initiatives within ACT territory.

The Sales Engineer must demonstrate solid communication skills, technical expertise, sales ability, and working both independently and within a team. They must also be able to communicate complicated technical material in results oriented environment.

  • Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products and services to meet customer needs.
  • Prepares detailed product specifications for the purpose of selling high end product and solutions.
  • Conducts customer needs analysis.
  • Provides project scoping.
  • Assist in developing tender requirements and responding to tender requests.
  • Coordinates internal specialists and inter-department activities.
  • Assists sellers in creating demand for product.
  • Requires a high degree of technical competency to respond to customer needs and to discuss product capabilities and applications with technical users/buyers.
  • Customarily and regularly engaged at client facilities and delivers high impact presentations leveraging strong technical skills.



  • Qualifications



    Background and Experience:
    • Bachelor degree level education desired.
    • 8+ years of IT experience in a Vendor, Professional Services, IT Consulting, Systems Integration, or end-user environment

      • Minimum 5 years presales experience preferred
      • Knowledge and experience of Thin Client, VDI, EUC, Mobility management, IDS/IPS, VPN preferred
      • Citrix XenApp and Xendesktop experience (CCEA, CCIE a plus)
      • VMware View experience (VCP a plus
      • Microsoft Server OS 2003/2008 and Windows XP Pro/Windows 7 experience (MCSE a plus)
      • Cisco Networking Experience (CCNA a plus)
      • SUSE or Red Hat Linux experience (RHCVA and SUSE Linux Certification a plus)
      • Excellent organizational, customer service and communication skills
      • Security clearance for government account access is desirable.
      • Experience in responding to government tenders.
        • Anticipates how market and competitive factors that will influence the sale of Dell products and services.
        • Advises customers/Dell on strategic business and technology plans.
        • Recognized internally and externally as a thought leader on the industry, the Dell business model and competitors.
