Director of Compensation, Benefits & HRIS IN Cambridge MA


OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
MSH is looking for a Director level HR professional with significant experience in international compensation, global benefits and HRIS. This position will play a leadership role in developing and implementing the organization's global compensation, benefits and HRIS strategies, policies and systems designed to attract, motivate and retain the employee talent essential to supporting MSH's mission. This includes but is not limited to design, implementation and administration of the organization's compensation programs, management of international and US based health, retirement & wellness programs, and strategic oversight of the HRIS function.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Responsible for the design, implementation and administration of the organization's compensation programs.
    • Oversee the design, implementation and administration of the global job leveling structure and associated country-specific salary ranges.
    • Design, implement and administer annual reward and recognition programs.
    • Direct and manage the annual salary planning process for pay increases and salary structure adjustments.
    • Research, determine and oversee annual participation in external salary surveys and review competitive salary data to ensure pay equity.
    • Partner with the field Human Resource Managers to research and respond to compensation issues that may arise in field offices (mostly located in developing countries).
    • Strategic oversight of international compensation policies and practices including expatriate allowances, temporary assignments, international transfers, etc.
  2. Manage international and US based health, retirement & wellness program design, compliance, communications and administration.
    • Evaluate, refine and improve the organization's global benefit programs and recommend creative solutions to meet staff needs and maximize value of benefits provided.
    • Oversee the administration of programs (this includes benefits coverage renewals, annual open enrollments, discrimination testing, reporting, etc.)
    • Determine process efficiencies and implement controls to improve reporting and ensure accurate data flow with other internal units
  3. Strategic oversight of the HRIS function ensuring that it meets short and long-term business requirements on a global basis.
    • Oversee the development, implementation, and modification of HR system requirements.
    • Determine reporting needs and system requirements to support HR and center functions including the development of internal database files and tables, and custom reports.
  4. Act as global liaison and vendor manager for third party compensation, HRIS, health, wellness & retirement service providers.
  5. Oversee and manage the global relocation program and expatriate program.
  6. Develop and report quarterly/annually departmental metrics and dashboards.
  7. Manage the Compensation, Benefits and HRIS team consisting of approximately five to seven individuals. Exemplify team work, camaraderie and support the values of the MSH organization.
  8. Assist the Vice President- Human Resources with the annual budgeting process with respect to all compensation, benefits and HRIS services.
  9. Support the Vice President of Human Resources with other projects and tasks as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or a related field. A Master's degree in Human Resource Management is preferred.
  2. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP®), Certified Benefits Professional® (CBP), and/or Global Remuneration Professional (GRP®) designation is strongly preferred.
  3. Extensive, proven success with the development and execution of global compensation strategy and policies.
  4. Experience designing variable pay programs is preferred.
  5. Experience in implementing and overseeing global health, wellness & retirement programs is preferred.
  6. Demonstrated experience utilizing human resource information systems is required. Experience managing an HRIS function is preferred.
  7. Must be hands on and capable of working independently with strong project management skills.
  8. High level of professional acumen that builds credibility with leaders and results in the ability to influence decision makers.
  9. Previous experience developing, analyzing and presenting results to staff and management.
  10. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  11. Experience in the African market and/or NGO community is strongly preferred.
  12. Prior international assignment experience is preferred.
  13. Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10-20%.
