Responsible for eight of the ten audience facing products that make up BBC Online, including News, Sport and Weather, News and Knowledge works at the very heart of the UK online industry. Role

We are looking for an outstanding Product Manager who is excited about exploiting the opportunities presented by new technologies. You will feel at home within the fast paced environment of change brought about by the ever changing media landscape.

Reporting to the Executive Product Manager, Knowledge & Learning, you will be a key figure in defining and delivering our new Knowledge & Learning product.

You will have a strong track record in defining and delivering technology products, ideally within a learning or educational environment, and will use this expertise to identify and seize opportunities for development.

You will also possess the necessary skills to manage internal stakeholders and liaise with external contacts to develop collaborative relationships.

Requirements

Essential

• Substantial experience of working at a senior level within a new media production environment.
• Good knowledge of industry standard product management skills, with understanding of product life-cycle and proven delivery of consumer products
• High degree of internet and computer literacy
• Ability to work in partnership and actively collaborate with colleagues across the organisation and wider industry
• Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate complex processes at all levels. Experience of presenting innovative ideas in order to secure senior management and strategic support
• A strong leader with demonstrable experience of motivating and leading high performing teams
• A very good understanding of web technologies and the ability to distil complex procedures into simple narratives.
