Recruitment Adviser - Emergency Response Department IN Norway


The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) has 2600 committed and competent employees involved in projects on four continents. In addition, NRC operates the world’s leading standby roster NORCAP. NORCAP enrolls 850 professionals from Norway, Asia and the Middle East, ready to be deployed to the UN or other international organisations, on a 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs. NORCAP is administered by the Emergency Response Department (ERD) which also operates several Thematic Rosters. These rosters relate to areas such as protection, gender issues, needs assessment and mediation.
In order to identify and attract the best candidates within these fields of expertise, the NRC Emergency Response Department wants to complement the current team of strong professionals with an additional member to support the strategic recruitment activity and to drive operational recruitment activity for the thematic contingency rosters.
Job description ■Support the Head of Section with development and implementation of overall recruitment strategy for ERD ■Develop new and/or refine existing recruitment tools and processes to enhance consistency in recruitment methodology across the department ■Contribute to the development of recruitment expertise within the department ■Contribute to the development of a recruitment system as a part of the ICT plattform ■Develop search methodology to enhance candidate networks for ERD ■Execute operational recruitment (regular recruitment rounds for the rosters) ■Provide input and support into recruitment related activities across the department ■Support the development of Department Plan of Action, other strategic documents and contribute to cross-organisational cooperation ■Perform other duties in the department as appropriate

Qualifications ■Relevant education and work experience in HR, recruitment and project management ■Experience with various recruitment and selection tools ■Experience in humanitarian work in the field is an advantage ■Knowledge of UN agencies and their procedures ■It is desirable that the candidate has a broad network in its field ■English as a working language, French and/ or Norwegian knowledge is an advantage ■Knowledge of normal ICT office support
