Summary: The Senior GIS/IT Officer ensures GIS capability of the Performance Based Management System, provides of technical expertise to Project’s GIS mapping system and data collection activities, and insures full integration of field-generated GIS data into the Project’s PBMS database.
The Senior GIS/IT Officer reports to the Senior PBMS Manager
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
IT Systems Administration• Managing IT procurement including maintaining contacts with vendors, obtaining quotes and tracking purchases
• Maintaining hardware and software inventories, warranties, and licensing
• Provide IT infrastructure support, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing systems upgrades and analysis, disaster recovery plans.
• Monitoring and maintaining virus management programs
• Monitoring servers and storage
• Training and providing support to end-users for MS Office, Outlook, Project and other tools.
• Installation and support of wired, wireless, and VSAT based networks.
• Creating and maintaining networks, including IP addressing, basic routing functions, DHCP, LDAP
• Troubleshooting IT-related problems and issues, as needed; proactively identifying customer business problems/opportunities and recommending solutions
• Working with Washington, DC IT Department to set up and terminate email accounts, distribution lists, access rights;
• Orienting staff on IT policies and procedures
• Performing other duties as assigned.
GIS• Supports GIS mapping system and data collection
• Ensures grantee GIS data is uploaded into the PBMS database
• Assists with report generation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:• BA and a minimum of 4 years of experience working with grants to local partners and community program design and implementation.
• Experience with USG (USAID preferred)-funded programs or other international donors
• Experience in supporting and monitoring field-based programs in the region.
• Excellent computer literacy in Word, Excel and PowerPoint are required.
• English and Nepali fluency required
• Open to Nepal nationals only
Preference for:• Demonstrated capacity to create and/or maintain systems and procedures for managing complex programs with many implementation sites, partners and beneficiaries
• Good analytical skills

• Ability and willingness to travel domestically on short notice
