Fairfood ICT Translator (Dutch- English)

Fairfood International is a non-profit global advocacy group with its head office based in Amsterdam and hubs located in several parts of the world. Fairfood encourages food and beverage companies worldwide to address socio-economic and environmental sustainability issues within their supply chains. Fairfood is currently is looking for:

ICT Translator (Dutch to English)
16-24 hrs/freelance

Team
The ICT team is responsible for maintaining the ICT infrastructure and providing support while continuously seeking to improve ICT within the organization. The team maintains IT services, software, mobile phones, 50 workstations and various technical installations for a number of projects. The ICT team is responsible for providing high-quality workstations in a cost-efficient way. It also acts as a Help Desk and provides technical support to other teams within Fairfood.

Function
As a translator you will have to convert IT documents and manuals from Dutch to English ensuring that the translated version conveys the meaning of the original as clearly and accurately as possible. It is possible to work from the office or as a freelance, according to your preference or the demands of its project.
Profile and Competences
As an ICT translator, you will need:
• Excellent command of spoken and written Dutch
• Excellent command of spoken and written English/native
• IT skills or knowledge on technical language and terminology
• Ability to prioritize work in order to meet deadlines

This is an unpaid position which is also suited as an internship. You will get viable working experience in this particular field of work and at an NGO. We do expect, however, that you will work a minimum of sixteen hours a week for at least one month.
