Job Description:	The  Waste Management Engineer shall be responsible for providing our clients with specialist advice and reports during the design, operation and decommissioning of waste facilities and for the production of all environmental and waste management documentation required in terms of the country specific legislation. The waste engineer shall also be responsible for the execution of solid waste related infrastructure, which will include pre-feasibility, feasibility, planning, construction, operation and remediation.  The work may involve design and construction of additional civil engineering projects. Business development in Africa for waste related opportunities Minimum Requirements ·         Masters in Science (Civil Engineering) or equivalent ·         Registered with Pr Eng or equivalent Demonstrable experience with working and building strong relationships with clients Project managed complex and large waste projects, Waste projects undertaken in African countries Minimum 10 years experience in the design and construction of waste transfer sections, solid waste sites, Buy Back Centers (BBC), Material Recovery Centres (MRF) Achievement Oriented Key Responsibility Areas Undertake pre-feasibility and feasibility studies Preliminary and detail design of solid waste related infrastructure Compile tender documents, contract documents and tender reports Construction supervision Travel within South Africa and outside borders of South Africa Prepare proposals for new work wins Ensure projects meet quality standard Ensure project task meet financial targets Ensure projects meet quality standards Ensure client satisfaction Core Competencies ·         General Civil Engineering ·         Understanding of waste infrastructure ·         Knowledge of operation of solid waste sites, transfer stations, BBCs and MRFs ·         Knowledge of DWA and other authorities requirements ·         Computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point and Microsoft Projects) ·         Problem solving ·         Project Management ·         Mentoring ·         Passion ·         Energy ·         Initiative ·         Team Player ·         Customer Focus Depending on South African permanent residency status, the position can be offered on permanent or contract basis.
