Job Description: |
The Environmental Business
Development Executive will be responsible for providing effective
leadership, management and implementation of all business development
activities within the Environmental Sector in line with the Business
Development Plan.
The individual will be
responsible for growing the Sector's forward order book and developing
strong relationships with key clients.
The individual will also lead on merger and acquisition deals for the Sector.

Responsible to identify, screen, resource and manage complex and mega proposals and projects in Africa.
Minimum Requirements
- Honours/Masters degree in Enviromental Sciences/Enviromental Management or equivalent tertiary qualification;
- Business related qualifications;
- Minimum 15 years experience in the envirometal field; 5 of which must be in consulting business development space;
- Excellent marketing track record i.e. demonstrated success of prospecting and closing sizable deals;
- Project management of complex environmental projects in Africa;
- Proven track record of identifying and generating leads, managing the pipeline, and converting prospects into key accounts;
- Strong ability to negotiate as part of a bid team;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- Strong project mangement skills;
- Proven ability to multi-task in a dead-line driven environment;
- Strong ability to identify strategic opportunities and unlock solutions to close the deal;
- Excellent understanding of country specific governance and political framework;
- Conflict resolution skills;
- Team Management;
- Leadership skills;
- Able to take extensive travel;
Key Responsibility Areas
· Lead
in the identification of new market areas and grow existing markets
within the Environmental Sector i.e. identifying new products and
services and growing existing products and services;
· Effectively lead and coordinate the business development value chain for the sector
· The key performance areas also include:
· Management of the Sector Pipeline including Age Backlog and Known Opportunities;
· Networking activities;
· Brand building activities;
· Marketing and Promotional Material;
· Client Relationship Management;
· Sector business development processes; and
· Client feedback
Depending on South African permanent residency status, the position can be offered on permanent or contract basis.
