Senior Geotechnical Engineer
GIBB’s geotechnical team requires a
senior geotechnical engineer who can provide a lead role for an already
established team of engineers and engineering geologists in multiple
disciplinary geotechnical projects. The appropriate candidate should be
able to source additional projects for GIBB through their standing in
the industry.
Their role would include providing
support for site investigation and insitu testing but their major role
would entail facilitating all major aspects of geotechnical foundation
design
This senior position would also involve mentoring junior engineers
Minimum Requirements
Key Responsibility Areas
· Securing
additional geotechnical work through tenders, existing GIBB Clients,
developing new clients and through own established contacts
· External and internal project management of geotechnical projects and ensuring project profitability.
· Planning and leading site investigations
· Insitu test analysis
· Laboratory test analysis
· Foundation design for multiple aspects of infrastructure
· Numerical modeling of foundation bearing capacity, slope stability, tunnel support and various other geotechnical models
· Results interpretation and report writing
· Mentoring and training junior engineers
· Managing ISO 9001 quality system compliance for geotechnical projects
