Talent Acquisition Specialist


I. TechnoServe Background:

TechnoServe is an international, non-profit economic development organization founded in 1968 out of a conviction that a vibrant private sector is an essential foundation for economic growth and poverty reduction.  TechnoServe undertakes targeted, catalytic technical assistance and other programming to increase the competitiveness of entrepreneurs, businesses and industries that in-turn provide sustainable employment, inclusion of the poor and increased incomes.  TechnoServe operates in 25 developing countries with over 1000 employees.  A substantial portion of our work is in agriculture, enhancing farm productivity and commodity quality and addressing gaps in processing and other agribusiness capacities.  Our programs increase smallholder access to new technologies, aggregation and storage mechanisms, markets, critical information and finance.  TechnoServe also undertakes structured programs to identify and support high potential entrepreneurs in various sectors through leadership mentoring networks, formalization support, access to capital and development of sustainable business services such as accounting, finance, marketing and human resource management. 

 

II. Position Description:

  • Assist in systematizing the recruitment process including development of screening tools and process resources for all global and US-based hires
  • Work with hiring managers/departments to determine unique screening criteria that may be unique to specific postings
  • Post individual jobs as appropriate
  • Review and access candidate qualifications against established criteria.
  • Present summary data and short list of qualified candidates to hiring manager in accordance with agreed time frames
  • Assist in the development of  standard “interview guides” for hiring managers to use (which may be adapted for specific positions)
  • Maintain candidates records, and other recruitment tracking tools; work with hiring managers to properly document the hiring process
  • Prepare and issue offer letters
  • Manage candidates seamlessly through the interview process, set expectations, provide feedback, check references, conduct background checks, negotiate as necessary and close all offers.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations, policies, and best practices related to recruitment, hiring and employment
  • Attend industry and recruiting events
  • Other duties as required

III. Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field
  • 3-5 years related work experience in an international or multicultural setting
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience recruiting, to include screening candidates, conducting interviews, reference checks and background checks
  • Understanding of compliance requirements for recruitment and hiring
  • Experience in behavioral based recruiting
  • Experience developing strong recruitment processes, tools and resource interview protocols
  • Strong oral, written, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required (minimally)
  • Knowledge of recruitment in a non-profit or international environment
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Experience working with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
  • Fluency in Spanish, French, or Portuguese preferred

IV. Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
