Tom Price - Resource Scheduler

Our privately owned and operated rail network is an essential part of our integrated production process and services our 14 mines across the Pilbara via 1,500 kilometres of track.  With depots located at Tom Price, Cape Lambert and Dampier (7 Mile), each train is operated by a single driver and comprises up to three locomotives and 234 ore cars stretching to approximately 2.4 kilometres in length with 40 trains operating per day.  As part of our Mine of the Future™ programme, we will implement AutoHaul technology - the first long distance heavy haulage deployment of automated trains - enhancing both productivity and safety.
 
Reporting to the Resource Planner, you will be responsible for maintaining rosters, booking flights and accommodation, answering general rostering and leave enquiries from drivers and using computer systems on a daily basis. 
 
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining daily crew deployment and rostering
  • Adherence to rostering principles and guidelines as well following set policies and procedures
  • Analysing and reporting monthly rostering statistics
  • Answering general queries from staff regarding rostering requirements and handling general administrative tasks.
  • Keeping Harmony computer system up to date
  • Contributing towards safety in the workplace.
To be considered for this role, you will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, adaptability to manage a dynamic work schedule and the will to take on challenges. Your prior experience in scheduling, planning or logistics along with an understanding of Rio Tinto computer systems as well as Microsoft Office will be advantageous.
