CONSULTANCY FOR REVIEW OF LEGISLATION & RULES PERTAINING TO HIV/AIDS PREVENTION& CARE IN CORRECTIONAL SETTINGS IN ZANZIBAR

UNODC's regional office for southern Africa is running a regional Programme entitled HIV Prevention Treatment, care and support in prisons setting in southern Africa covering Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia with the objectives to prevent new HIV infections specifically related to incarceration in selected countries in sub Saharan Africa.
In line with this objective, the given assignment aims at supporting efforts to review selected national programmes in prison setting in the given country, by developing a Good Practice paper based on one programme in the country and delivering a comprehensive report on the review of all selected programmes from selected sites within United Republic of Tanzania prison system. The Good Practice findings and the comprehensive report will be presented to relevant stakeholders at a National Dissemination Meeting. The objective of the review and ensuing dissemination is to assess national prison programmes and share lessons learned and the best practices of selected programmes in all target countries.
