WWF Central Africa Regional Programme Office, Grants Coordinator

WWF Central Africa Regional Programme Office (CARPO) is looking for a Grants Coordinator to maintain and analyse WWF CARPO’s donor contract database, coordinate administrative aspects of proposal development and donor contract management and ensure compliance with donors’ administrative requirements and reporting in close cooperation with national offices.

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure integration and update of all WWF donor contracts in the region into the WWF database at the regional and international level;
  • Provide internal monthly proposals and donor contracts summary status reports to WWF regional and national management teams and produce business intelligence on funding trends;
  • Provide support, including training, to WWF regional and national teams to ensure full implementation of WWF Proposals and Donors Contracts Management Policy and Procedures in the region;
  • Provide support to WWF regional and national teams on donor guidelines, application rules, policies and procedures and contractual obligations, particularly on reporting, procurement, matching funds, spending rate and visibility requirements, to ensure full compliance;
  • Contribute to building an institutional real-time knowledge of donors and various funding opportunities relevant to the needs of WWF’s programme in the region;
  • Assist WWF regional and national teams as appropriate in building donor relations, attending meetings with donors and maintaining timely communications with donors;
  • Coordinate the administrative aspects of the preparation and submission of proposals to donors, with technical and financial WWF staff and partners;
  • Coordinate the legal, administrative, financial and technical review of proposed donor’s contracts before signature;
  • Coordinate negotiation of sub-grants and provide training to sub-grantees, as needed, to ensure compliance with donor requirements and WWF Policy and Procedures;
  • Ensure compliance with donors administrative requirements during the contract period, timely external reporting on donor contracts and completion of any necessary amendment, no-cost extension or closing procedures.

What you need:

Required Skills and Competencies
  • At least a Master’s level in Law, Business Administration, project management or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in grants or contract administration;
  • Experience working with donors and knowledge of donors requirements;
  • Experience in proposal development;
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills,
  • Fluency in French and English;
  • Excellent computer knowledge (word-processing, spreadsheet, e-mail, internet search).
  • Proven planning, administrative, organizational and problem-solving skills;
  • Adherence to WWF’s values, which are: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging
