GOAL Social Media Marketing Officer - Dublin


General Description of the Role:
GOAL’s Fundraising & Marketing Department is responsible for raising money from the public and corporate sector, organising fundraising events and campaigns, and supporting events organised on our behalf. The primary function of this role is to support all GOAL fundraising and marketing activities within the Republic of Ireland, UK and USA.

You will have the opportunity to actively participate in and contribute to team in the planning and development in maintaining, improving and expanding on the wider GOAL online community.
KEY TASKS & AREAS OF RESPONSBILITY: •Support the fundraising team in promoting their annual fundraising events and campaigns on a daily basis. •Work closely with the media team to manage the production of GOAL newsletters, website, social media pages and new digital initiatives. This includes contributing to the ongoing strategic direction of GOAL’s digital communications platforms with the aim of deepening and expanding the GOAL online community and supporter base in Ireland, the UK and the US. •Monitor daily the GOAL website, and GOAL’s social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Google + and LinkedIn) •Recognise, develop and project manage ongoing website development needs for GOAL within the digital communications sector. Contribute content and upload information to the website using the CMS. Manage relations between GOAL and our web design agency. •Help to maintain and improve GOAL’s media profile by continuing to work on ways to improve our social media presence. Work in tandem with the media officer to create a social media strategy for 2013 building on what we have already developed.
•Generate and prepare regular social media content using a social media calendar. •Keep records of all social media statistics, and work with the media officer to produce a comprehensive evaluation of social media engagement. •Communicating and feeding back to supporters through the design, preparation and delivery of mass e-mails for GOAL Ireland, UK and US. Develop an e-zine strategy to build on what we have already established. Build on the subscriber list and increase sign-ups thus expanding on GOAL’s reach. • Assist with the creation of literature and paraphernalia required for promotional activities by the fundraising/media department. •Producing and promoting multimedia content. Editing video for use in online channels and internally. •Researching and proposing new ways to take advantage of social media and online technologies in line with GOAL’s objectives. •Manage GOAL’s Google Adwords account and ensure that the keywords are being updated regularly and the account is being monitored sufficiently to adhere to the Google grants guidelines. •Produce fortnightly website reports that dictate what has/has not been a success. From the results of these reports edit and improve the website accordingly. This may involve A/B testing of different content and a different layout than what is normal. Liaise with our web agency on this and ensure to maintain this relationship effectively.
Requirements for position: •Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. •In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms participants (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Flickr, Google +, LinkedIn blogging etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios. •2+ years’ experience in a digital marketing role - charity sector experience preferable. •Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships •Ability to work as part of a team. •Good technical understanding of social media, and an ability to quickly grasp and acclimatise to new innovations. •A self-starter, able to work on own initiative. •Demonstrated digital communications and campaign skills including content creation, administration and social media engagement. •Good organisational and project management skills including the ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines on occasion. •Knowledge and experience using the Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign is desirable.
