Classical Music Television is a department within the Audio and Music Division of the BBC. This busy Department is responsible for much of the BBC’s classical music and dance programming on BBC 1, BBC 2, BBC 3 and BBC 4. Our core output includes Proms, Opera and Dance relays from the Royal Opera House, landmark documentary series, concerts and live events coverage.
Role
Offered as a 4-month attachment/fixed term contract: 15th April to 20th September 2013, Grade 3D.
You’ll be helping set up and run the production office, providing admin support to the production team, maintaining team diaries, preparing correspondence, distributing production scripts and schedules, managing expenses, making travel arrangements, checking scores and copying CDs.
Requirements
Good working knowledge of classical music required, including score reading and the ability to interpret orchestral lay-outs. Proven experience as a Production Management Assistant within a TV production environment is essential, ideally with experience of BBC systems. Proms or Event experience is desirable. With a good understanding of overall production requirements, you will be able to use your planning, organising and financial management skills to anticipate the needs of the production team. You’ll also have the ability to think creatively and analytically, with the self motivation to co-ordinate activities to tight deadlines.
