We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Relationship Manager – Global Spend Management in our Chicago, IL office.  This position will support Aon’s Global Spend Management team. 
JOB OVERVIEW
The Relationship Manager acts as a facilitator between internal clients/business units and the delivery arms of Global Spend Management (GSM), to develop, monitor and/or manage a pipeline of initiatives:
  • Traditional procurement activities (Sourcing, Outsourcing, Purchasing, Supplier Management, etc)
  • Revenue enhancement activities (improved competitiveness of brokered, or pass-through products and services)
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Partner with internal clients
    • Develop relationships and obtain knowledge of business unit products and services, organization structure, operations, finances and decision making processes
    • Educate internal customers on GSM service offerings and capabilities
    • Provide a consistent interface and ensure that GSM service offerings and reports are tailored to the needs of the business unit
    • Identify and propose opportunities to manage demand, leverage spend, improve processes and create value
    • Manage handoffs between internal customers and GSM staff members when identified opportunities lead to individual initiatives
    • When necessary, directly perform against GSMs service offerings (e.g. lead Sourcing initiatives) 
    • Enhance GSM capabilities
      • Educate GSM staff on the unique needs and characteristics of the business unit
      • Support GSM staff in tailoring service offerings and reports to meet business unit requirements
      • Provide visibility into the current and potential pipelines of initiatives
      • Identify opportunities to apply successes to additional business units, and/or globally
      • High levels of integrity and trustworthiness

        • MINIMUM EDUCATION
          Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
          SKILLS
          Minimum:
          • Strong analytical skills
          • Strong interpersonal skills
          • Excellent communication skills
          • Project management
          • Above average MS Office capabilities
          •  Preferred:
            • Third party contracting
            KNOWLEDGE
            Minimum:
            • Background in Business required
            • Broad spend category knowledge (direct vs. indirect, commodity versus specialty, IT versus non-IT, etc)
            • Background in a Financial Services and/or Professional Services industry
            •  Preferred:
              • Experience in Sourcing, Outsourcing and/or Supplier Management
              • Background in internal or external Relationship Management
              • Background in the Insurance and/or HR Consulting industry
