Marie Stopes International Deputy Regional Director


We are looking for a number of Deputy Regional Directors to join our busy International Programmes Department. This is a new and exciting opportunity based in the London Support Office. In this role you will be responsible for supporting country programmes across the regions to ensure that they are strong organisations with programmatic vision and results that align with Marie Stopes International's (MSI) mission and strategic plan.
You will have significant internal and external facing responsibilities ranging from providing leadership and assistance to country programmes on MSI key programming streams (service delivery, management systems, business development and innovation, and resource development) to drive improvements in global systems and standards by providing clear guidance and strategic support. You will also be responsible for managing and coordinating Support Office (SO) initiatives and for SO team management and development. The Deputy Regional Director will partner closely with the Regional Director, Country Director and other MSI teams to chart the region’s future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for MSI services.
To be considered for this role you will have:
  • Significant previous experience in a senior management and leadership position in a nonprofit organisation, business, foundation, or government agency. Experience in the reproductive healthcare sector or related field would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading and managing programmes/organisations of significant turnover, preferably gained within the reproductive healthcare sector or related field
  • Track record delivering superior results, commanding respect, and assuming leadership roles
  • Experience of running a country programme or private sector organisation at a Country Director Senior Management level
  • Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities
  • Proven business skills and experience and/or experience negotiating/contracting with government and national insurance agencies
  • Experience of implementing and managing change is highly desirable
  • Proven experience of dealing with multi cross cultural environments
