RedR is an international disaster relief NGO which saves lives by giving aid workers the vital skills they need to do their jobs to the highest possible standard. We train thousands of people each year in everything from providing emergency shelter to staying safe in the field, from project management after emergencies to essential water and sanitation skills and more. And we provide experienced, professional aid workers from our pool of 1700 Members to support emergency response and longer-term humanitarian programmes worldwide
We provide a worldwide NGO training and consultancy service, covering all major aspects of humanitarian aid work. We have a track record of delivering high quality bespoke courses, tailored to the needs of individual organisations, both in the UK and around the world. Our expertise and experience enables us to deliver training on a full range of subjects including security, water, sanitation and hygiene, needs assessments in emergencies and introductory humanitarian courses.
The Role
This role will suit someone looking to build on their experience in project management in the humanitarian sector. The successful candidate will have sole responsibility for a high profile and exciting project to deliver capacity building services across Eastern Europe. They will benefit from working as part of a team of learning and development professionals within a highly respected international disaster relief charity. The role will give the candidate considerable scope to develop their own project management skills whilst influencing the capacity or a range of NGO organisations across Europe.
Person Specification
A minimum of 2 years experience in humanitarian sector along with a professional accreditation in project manage mentor substantial experience in managing projects (particularly ECHO funded projects) is required for this role. Some of the important attributes of this role include experience in budget management, project monitoring and evaluation and event management.Excellent attention to detail, diplomacy, ability to prioritise tasks and a strong commitment and understanding of humanitarian issues are some of the competencies required for this position.
