Job Responsibilities
   
 Reports to:

UK and Ireland Finance Director & SSC Director (currently Suzanne Shine)


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Statutory Reporting (40%)
SSC Legal Entities – currently 5
• Responsible for::
o Statutory accounts preparation (including overseas branch consolidation)
o Direct liaison with external Auditors, and co-ordination of Audit
o Ensuring statutory and/or Group deadlines are met

Non-SSC Legal Entities – currently 10
• Liaise with local Finance Heads to ensure:
o Statutory Accounts are drafted in accordance with Group guidelines
o External Audit is correctly planned and supported
o Statutory and/or Group deadlines will be met

Tax Reporting/Compliance (50%)
Working closely with Group Tax, SSC R2R Team and Local Finance Teams to ensure tax compliance and reporting for all UK Operating Companies is complete. Review of existing processes to ensure standardisation and efficiencies are maximised. Degree of involvement will depend upon whether the entity is within the shared service (high involvement), or under local control (low involvement). Areas of responsibility include:

• PSA Returns
• P11D Returns
• SAO Compliance
• CT61 Returns
• VAT Returns and Compliance
• EC Sales Lists/Intrastat
• UK Tax Pack for Group Tax

Other Responsibilities (10%)
• Monthly review of UK Country P&L including analysis of overheads and significant variances
• Assisting with cash management for the UK entities
• Ad-Hoc UK management information
 
   
Job Qualifications
   
 SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
• Strong accountant, probably ACA with 2-3 years PQE
• IT Literate. Working knowledge of Peoplesoft and Cognos
• Good written and spoken English.
• Experience of maintaining a strong internal control environment.
• Ability to work to deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Dedicated, professional honest and enthusiastic.
• Initiative to work on own and as part of a small team.
• Commercial awareness.
• Flexible approach to working hours, particularly around reporting deadlines.
• Willingness to travel within UK with possible international element.
