External Relations Manager

Job Title:  External Relations Manager
Reports to: IP Director Matrix to Programme Development Director
Location: Arusha
Purpose of the Position
The purpose of this position is to provide exceptional care and service to all of WVT’s visitors (including visitors to programs, Kili4Kids etc).
Major Responsibilities
1.    Facilitate all logistical and hosting arrangements for WVT visitors, whether it be for K4K, program visits or any other purpose
2.    Develop and maintain an effective marketing strategy for Kili4Kids
3.    Effectively manage the K4K initiative including all partners, contractors and service providers
4.    Lead the development and implementation of effective training and support for ADP and field staff on the hosting of international staff to WVT programs
5.    Effectively communicate and coordinate with all other WVT divisions and departments to ensure visitors have a primary point of contact and receive the same level of exceptional care.  
6.    Develop effective relationships with service providers (such as air/road transport providers, hotels etc) to ensure exceptional service to WVT visitors.
7.    Develop thorough understanding of WVT’s programs and operations to provide appropriate information to WVT’s visitors before and during their visits.  
8.    Develop effective relationships with Support Offices to coordinate the logistics and hosting of international visitors.  
Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
·    Minimum Qualification required: Diploma in Communications, Foreign Relations, Tourism or Hospitality from a recognized Tanzanian or international training institute. Bachelor degree holders in a relevant field will be favored.
·    Experience:  At least 3 years experience working in a medium to large private, public or non-government organization in a similar role.  Experience should include dealing with the public and a variety of different stakeholders. Candidate should be able to demonstrate strong experience in developing and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of people and provide quality service.  
·    Preferred: Candidates with formal training and relevant qualifications for the position will be favored.  Candidates with experience in interacting with international stakeholders on a regular basis will be favoured. 
·    Technical skills and abilities:
·    Excellent English and Swahili communication skills.  
·    Excellent customer service skills.  
·    Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills.
·     Excellent organization and administration skills. 
·    Strong skills in expense management and accountability

Senior Program Officer-OPS

Job Title Senior Program Officer-OPS
Reports to: Senior Program Manager
Location: Head Office.
Purpose of the Position
To provide Technical Support in the Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting of sponsorship programs/projects for effective programs/projects management in World Vision Tanzania areas of operations

Major Responsibilities
1.     Build capacity to staff on program/project planning  and review of programs/projects AOPs/DIPs and PDDs to ensure quality programming
2.     Build capacity to staff on report writing and review  of reports to ensure that narrative quality reports (quarterly, semi-annual and annual ) are  timely submitted to stakeholders
3.     Manage PIH and other divisional databases
4.     Review and follow-up of funding request submission to ensure compliance to the approved AOPs/DIPs and timely funding
5.     Consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual divisional reports.
6.     Review contracts for technical inputs from Zones and ADPs.
7.     Timely follow up of internal, external, Global Internal Audit - GIA (Operation) and evaluation/donor recommendations to ensure that they are responded to and fully implemented.
8.    Analyze implementation processes to validate the impact of implemented projects
9.    Track and facilitate solutions for issues hindering implementation of program/projects plans
10.  Responds to day to day issues inquiring about the implementation of program/project plans.
11.  To develop/contextualize and champion the use of program management tools for effective and efficient program management
12.  To develop/contextualize and champion the use of program management tools for effective and efficient program management
13.  Provide supportive monitoring visits to program/project area on integration and implementation of program/project activities
14.   Facilitate formation and strengthening of Local Based Institutions/CBO and integration of MED initiatives in programs/projects
Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
·         Minimum Qualification required: Masters in Economic Development, Sociology, Agriculture,
·         Experience:  5 years in programming
·         Preferred: Experience in managing integrated programs
·         Technical Skills & Abilities:
o   Computer skills.
o   Demonstrated ability in monitoring and supervision
o   Experience in working with donor funds
o   Working knowledge of proposal writing and negotiation skills
o   Good planning and organizational skills
o   Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and donors

Sustainable Local Institutions Coordinator

Purpose of the Position
To enhance effectiveness of World Vision Tanzania Ministry by providing technical support to all organizational efforts in the establishment, evaluation and/or strengthening of local institutions within WVT operation areas for more impactful and sustainable transformational development.

Major Responsibilities
1.     Provide technical support in the review of ADP and project designs / plans, of various ADP to ensure that the sustainability components (sustainable local institutions, economic development, and food security) are clearly captured and incorporated in PDDs and DIPs.
2.     Provide technical support to cluster ADP teams on the effective operation of local institutions [CBOs, farmers groups such as CPG and CVs, Village Community Banks (VICOBA) and IGAs] to ensure their viability and effectiveness.
3.     Undertakes networking with WV partnership, relevant government authorities, and other like-minded organizations on all issues related to establishment, capacity building and legal framework for local institutions [CBOs, farmers groups such as CPG and CVs, Village Community Banks (VICOBA) and IGAs]to keep the organization informed and engaged on new developments in local institutions.
4.     Maintains and updates database/records on capacity building for WVT staff and community members on VICOBA, MLAP, and STF for informed decision and sustainability and replication of livelihood initiatives.
5.       Facilitate documentation and management of information and data related to economic development groups and local institutions [CBOs, farmers groups such as CPG and CVs, Village Community Banks (VICOBA) and IGAs] for effective support and learning purposes.
Qualifications:  Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
  • Minimum Qualification required: BA/Bsc Degree in Economics, Agriculture, Business administration, Development studies/planning, social science disciplines or other related disciplines.
  • Experience: 3 years in management of Development Programs
  • Preferred:  MA /Msc Degree in Economics, Agriculture, Business administration, Development studies /planning, social science disciplines or related field disciplines with at least 2 years experience.
  • Technical Skills & Abilities:
    • Computer knowledge
    • Knowledge on Cooperative Societies and entrepreneurship skills
    • Skills in report writing and project designs

World Vision Tanzania (WVT) is seeking to recruit a suitable Tanzanian candidate to fill the position of Security Adviser. The incumbent is expected to support the implementation of Core Security Requirements in ensuring that effective security measures for the National Office programs are both appropriately planned for and addressed within the national context.  Lead in the optimization of organizational security and the mitigation of operational risks for ministry effectiveness by establishing security systems and mechanisms for institutionalizing an organizational culture and practice of safety and security within WV Tanzania operations.

The Security Advisor is also expected to communicate World Vision's Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Bachelors Degree preferable and Police/Law Enforcement or military training
, minimum of 3 years working experience, working with UN Agency / NGO is an added advantage.
Technical Skills & Abilities: Ability to implement and manage security policies and procedures within a complex and high risk and/ or hostile environments, willingness to multi-task, able to work effectively under pressure taking of independence of action when required, valuing diversity and commitment  to people capacity growth.
