The Other Foundation, a new African trust that advances the human rights of LGBTI people across Southern Africa, is now seeking an experienced yet innovative leader from the Southern African region.  This is an exciting opportunity to lead a start-up grant-making foundation in the privileged position of having financial support for operations for at least the first five years. As the leader of a new African philanthropic trust, the majority of the role will be about raising resources and building networks in the field of LGBTI philanthropy and giving in Southern Africa. Equally important to securing a sustainable resource base will be the exciting opportunity to craft the initial vision into a fully-fledged strategy that can significantly impact the lives of LGBTI people across the Southern African region, and contribute to building a thriving human rights movement that advances and protects the rights of all.

We are looking for an experienced leader with several years of management experience at senior level, with a track record of resource mobilisation and having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.  Of particular importance is work in the Southern African region and a particular sensitivity to LGBTI awareness, challenges and opportunities.
