Debtors Officer
Introduction:
The successful candidate will monitor incoming licence fees and Universal Service and Access Fund contributions from Electronic Communications licence holders, as well as assist on a quarterly, semi-annually and year-end basis with regulatory financial submission of reports from licence holders.
Responsibilities:
  • Manage the incoming funds from electronic communication licence holders
  • Ensure all revenue is correctly recorded and reported
  • Liaise with operators, licensing and technical departments regarding revenue collection.
  • Assist with performing month-end reconciliations and investigate variations and exceptions
  • Assist with the clearing of accruals once the actual payments have been received from licence holders
  • Assist with interim and annual audits conducted by internal and external auditors.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 and a qualification in Accounting
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a finance and/or revenue accounting environment
  • A valid driver's licence
  • Ability to analysefinancial statements, perform complex reconciliations and attend to auditors.
  • Performance-focused and results-driven
  • Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to cope with stress, conflict and crises
  • Problem-solving skills.
