EngenderHealth is seeking expressions of interest from highly qualified candidates for staff positions on an anticipated USAID-funded project that will build the capacity of the Government of Tanzania to support combination community-based HIV prevention programming.

Chief of Party/Project Director, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, will have overall responsibility for strategy setting, technical leadership, coordination and collaboration, oversight of project activities, fiscal accountability, and staff supervision. S/he has an advanced degree in health sciences, public health, international development, or a related field, with at least 10 solid years’ experience of leading, managing, and implementing USAID-funded HIV programs in Tanzania and/or other developing countries. Fluent spoken and written English required. Applications from international and Tanzanian candidates considered.

Deputy Chief of Party/Technical Director, based in Dar es Salaam, will manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of project activities and provide the technical expertise required for the project to achieve its objectives.S/he has an advanced degree in health sciences, public health, international development, or a related field, with at least 8 years of senior-level programmatic and technical experience and at least 5 years’ experience of managing USAID-funded programs. Fluent spoken and written English and Swahili required.

M&E Manager, based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, will manage the project’s monitoring and evaluation plan, monitor country-level interventions, and oversee implementation research. S/he will lead the development and dissemination of knowledge management products. The M&E Manager has an advanced degree in health sciences, public health, demography, epidemiology, project evaluation, or related field, with at least 7 years’ experience of implementing, monitoring, and evaluating development projects. Fluent spoken and written English required and Swahili strongly preferred. Applications from international and Tanzanian candidates considered. 

Senior Technical Advisors (multiple vacancies anticipated), based in Dar es Salaam, will provide specialist expertise in HIV  prevention, HIV testing and counseling, social and behavior change communication,  and community engagement. S/he has an advanced degree in health sciences, public health, international development, or related field, with at least 7 years’ experience of providing technical assistance in areas related to HIV. Experience of building the capacity of local implementing partners in community-based settings required. Fluent spoken and written English required and Swahili strongly preferred.

Finance Manager, based in Dar es Salaam, will oversee the project’s funding, contracts and financial reporting, in compliance with USAID rules and regulations. S/he has a bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, or related field and is a certified public accountant in Tanzania. S/he has at least 5 years’ experience of working in a similar senior position in an international organization and is knowledgeable of US Government financial requirements.
