The opportunity
 
We are looking for a Mobile Fitter, based at our iron ore operation, Mesa J, to perform preventative as well as routine and assigned breakdown maintenance tasks. You will also identify opportunities for improvements in machinery and work procedures.
 
Adjacent to the town of Pannawonica, this is an open pit operation with site-based processing and train loading facilities. Mesa J offers a range of operational roles with a residential lifestyle in a small community which recently underwent a $200 million town upgrade.

What the role entails
 
This position is a great opportunity for an ambitious and enthusiastic individual with excellent problem solving skills. Residentially based in Pannawonica (4 days on, 4 nights on, 7 off, 4 days on, 3 nights on and 6 off roster) and reporting to the Supervisor, you will be:
 
  • Maintaining Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) fleet in a safe and effective manner
  • Working effectively within maintenance as per the schedule
  • Completing all requirements related to data collection or recording
  • Utilising the SAP system for ensuring that maintenance tasks and progress are continuously recorded
  • Solving general mechanical problem and liaising with Original Equipment Manufacturers 
                       
What you will need for this role
 
To succeed in this exciting and challenging role, you will have:
 
  • A manual “C” class driver’s licence
  • A Mechanical trade background, preferably HME Diesel
  • Experience working on Caterpillar, Komatsu and Hitachi equipment
  • Working knowledge of SAP
 
A current and valid Forklift licence will be desirable. Additionally, a basic Rigging and Dogging ticket will be highly regarded.
