Capacity Building Content Coordinator

BSCI was launched in 2003 as an initiative of the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) in response to the increasing business demand for transparent and improved working conditions in the global supply chain. The Business Social Compliance Initiative is a leading business-driven initiative for companies committed to improving working conditions in factories and farms worldwide. We unite more than 1000 companies around a development-oriented system applicable to all sectors and sourcing countries.
The job:
We are looking for a Capacity Building Content Coordinator, leads the development of an on-boarding program (training content) for BSCI companies and factories, and co-conduct training initiatives. Training initiatives include instructor led training, e-courses, webinars and others. 
Content will focus on the following topics:
  • Successfully implementing the BSCI system and social compliance
  • Managing social compliance (and the BSCI system) in retail operations, importing and supply chain
  • Preparing for factory audits as a retailer and factory
  • Driving improvements on the factory floor
  • Driving improvements to a retailers social compliance program
Job requirements:
  • At least 10 years of experience in leading a retailer’s/ brand’s social compliance program.   
  • Extensive on the ground experience in working with factories (in major sourcing countries) to drive improvements involving CAPs and or other factory initiatives.
  • Knowledge of the BSCI system.
  • Intimate understanding of the value of social auditing and the challenges facing retailers and factories in this field.
  • Experience in global supply chains
  • Superior interpersonal skills and practical experience in conducting training
  • Good team player and cooperative spirit
  • Affinity with the goals of the organization
  • Ability to fit well into a multi-cultural team
  • Fluent in English, additional languages are an asset, particularly German
  • Diplomatic, articulate and assertive
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows, notably Word, EXCEL and PowerPoint
  • Strong ability to multi-task and coordinate several projects simultaneously
