Project Engineer - North American Region
Introduction & Job description
The Oil-free Air Division wants to be a leading provider of Engineered Compressed Gas Systems into Oil & Gas, (Petro-) Chemical Industry as well as other industries. For that purpose and activity we are in the process of creating a global Systems Application Group.
The Application Group is a decentralized, competent, flexible and coordinated application & project engineering network that supports the Customer Centres in offering, supporting the selling and managing the execution of products from the Systems Group (Compression Systems, Gas Purification Systems, Packaging Systems and future Industrial Gas Systems and Biogas Upgrading Systems).
The Application Group will be made up of regional teams that will cover this activity for the entire globe. For the North American Region (Canada, USA & Mexico), we are looking for Project Engineers.
As Project Engineer you are a:
·Hands on, leading, project engineer with relevant experience that supports Customer Centres in the execution of a defined technical and commercial customer order for engineered compressed gas systems.
·Interacts & cooperates with end customers, Atlas Copco Customer Centres, the other regional Application groups, the Systems Group entities and various qualified vendors.
·Ultimately responsible for the complete realisation of projects assigned.
·Reports to the Application Manager – North American Region.
Your responsibilities include:
·Ensure all relevant project details are clearly exchanged between Application Engineer, Systems Group entities and customer project team.
·Manage contracts ensuring they are within budget, focusing on project costing / profitability analysis and report any applicable discrepancies giving accurate projections of project costs, schedules and subsequent overruns.
·Coordinate all aspects of contract progression from receipt of order to the timely completion and accurate delivery of all required project deliverables.
·Maintain detailed project files and applicable records.·Manage all customer expectation related to assigned projects.
·Travel to customer premises or sub-vendor locations as required to ensure smooth execution of project.
·Ensure proper detailed information exchanged with aftermarket team and coordinate where required to ensure safe and smooth start-up & commissioning.

Mission
·To lead the process of executing accepted customer purchase orders for engineered compressed gas systems to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
·To ensure accepted project purchase orders meet contract requirements and execution cost targets.

Experience requirements
·Minimum of 5 years experience in a contract engineering, project management role or equivalent. ·Direct experience with oil & gas industry and its customers is preferred, multicultural international environment experience a plus.
Knowledge & Competence
·Good command (verbal and written) of English and ideally Spanish. Command of other languages are an advantage.
·Solid understanding and mature user of MS Office including MS Project.
·Able to work independently with mechanical/electrical CAD drawing software (Autocad + Inventor) and incorporate customer comments as needed.
·Strong technical and commercial knowledge of engineered gas compression systems and installations.
·Able to work within a time frame set by the customer.
·Able to plan and organize effectively and set priorities.
·Capable of managing large amounts of documents as part of the deliverables required on all projects utilising support resources where possible.
·Solid understanding and mature user of MS Office including MS Project.
