Sandvik Mining, the leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry, is currently looking for a:
DISTRIBUTION OUTBOUND PLANNER/CONTROL TOWER

THE ROLE:

The Distribution Outbound Planner/Control Tower position is responsible for ensuring that all customer orders flow through the various process steps without interruption from order entry to delivery. This role is located in Burlington, Ontario.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Check orders for correctness and completeness
  • Schedule orders against outstanding purchase orders
  • Ensure right usage of criticality codes and modes of transportation
  • Monitor order fulfilment including expediting urgent orders
  • Collaborate with customs brokers and/or authorities regarding product classifications and shipments
  • Handle freight claims, troubleshoot claims issues and shipment tracing
  • Co-ordinate incoming supplier shipments
  • Transport Management System maintenance
  • Process carrier tracking information
  • Provide customer support by providing the latest information related to orders
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce/Business or similar College diploma required.
  • PMAC/APICS or other equivalent professional designation is an asset
  • Solid understanding of logistics operations
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to operate independently and without close supervision
  • Proven time management/organization skills
  • Proactive business approach with demonstrated sense of urgency
  • Professional demeanour and ability to handle issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent written and verbal communications
  • Able to deal effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers/customers.
  • Skilled in all Microsoft tools such as Projects, PowerPoint, Excel Word, Visio and Access.
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours from time to time to provide coverage across different time zones and new extended cut-off times
