Governance Manager - Papua New Guinea

CARE PNG has developed an Integrated Community Development Project (ICDP) aiming to ensure the most economically, socially and politically marginalised people, living within extremely disadvantage districts of PNG will have sustainable and measureable improvements in their well-being.
The initial pilot stage of this project will be completed by June 2014 and in July 2014 the second phase will then be designed. This role will have overall responsibility for the governance within the ICDP including social and political accountability and management of the governance team. This role will also be responsible for strategic oversight of CARE PNG governance work, and technical and advisory responsibility for governance, and social and political accountability work to other CARE PNG projects and partners.
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced governance manager with strong project experience in international development including experience with program budgeting, financial management, and monitoring and evaluation. Your commitment to ethnic diversity and cultural sensitivity will be demonstrated through your leadership style, and ability to motivate staff and build the capacity of others including local partners to achieve strong results.
Your ability to engender trust and build strong relationships will be complemented by your strategic thinking skills, time management skills and judgement.
