Intern Communications - THE HAGUE

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
SNV is an international not-for-profit development organisation, funded from public and private sources, working in over 35 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. SNV specializes in supporting the resourcefulness of development actors by developing local capacities, improving performance and services, strengthening governance systems, helping to create access for excluded groups and by making markets work for the poor. Our global team of advisors use their specialist sector and change expertise in Agriculture, Renewable Energy and WASH to facilitate sustainable change in the livelihoods of millions of people living in poverty.  
SCOPE OF THE INTERNSHIP
SNV seeks an intern who will work within our corporate communication unit, with the focus on online communication. At the core of the internship, you will work on content management and content creation as part of a website redesign project. In addition, you will manage social media channels and assist the communications team in various other activities as needed (e.g. photo and video library, publications, etc.).
REQUIRED BACKGROUND
  • Bachelor’s student in International Communication & Media, Digital Media & Communication, Business Communication or similar;
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills and computer skills;
  • Proficiency in working online, preferably experience with content management systems (e.g. Drupal), writing for the web and use of various social media channels;
  • A good eye for design: knowledge of photo editing or design programmes is an asset;
  • A highly motivated, productive, creative personality with analytical skills and strong interpersonal skills, who is able to work both independently and in a team;
  • Affinity to contribute to economic development of the poor.
Internship duration: 3 to 4 months, 32 to 40 hours a week
Desired start date: 3rd of August 2015 
Duty station
The Hague (there is no reimbursement for relocation / housing)
This is a local position. Applicants need to be eligible for work in the EU or be in possession of a relevant work permit.
Stipend
300 euro (gross a month, based on 40 hours a week).
