The Senior Trade Commissioner (STC), Shanghai is Austrade’s Country Manager and represents the trade and commercial interests of Australia in China at a senior level with companies, business groups and government agencies.

The STC is responsible for the development of market strategies and leadership of Austrade’s trade, investment and international education outcomes in China with focus on the promotion and attraction of foreign direct investment.  The position oversees management of some 100 staff within Austrade’s China Posts and 11 regional offices.

To be successful, candidates must be Australian citizens and agree to be subject to a national security assessment for clearance at Negative Vetting 2. Fluency in Mandarin is highly desirable.
