Cyber Security Project Manager

EOS – the European Organisation for Security, www.eos-eu.com - is a Belgian organisation operated not for profit which represents the interests and expertise of 45 major European private stakeholders developing and/or providing Security Technology Solutions and Services in all relevant domains of the European economy (ICT, crisis management, terrorism, transport, finance, services and research) originating from different European countries. They represent more than 60% of the European security systems market and 2 million employees overall.
Cybersecurity Project Manager (Brussels based)
You will be required to:
  • Coordinate EU funded projects on cybersecurity / cybercrime and coordinate EOS’ contribution to EU funded projects.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operations of the cybersecurity working group and the implementation of the EOS strategy (organisation of meetings, drafting and consolidation of white papers, news monitoring, networking etc.).
  • Contribute to the support and implementation of policies emerging from the European Union (EC, EP) and propose strategies and / or activities accordingly.
  • Lead the reflection of the cybersecurity working group towards the definition of new EU-funded project topics related to cybersecurity and cybercrime, to be proposed to the Commission or relevant Agencies for their future Work Programmes.
  • Set up consortia and contribute to proposal-writing for calls launched by the Commission or Agencies for specific studies or EU-funded research and innovation projects, upon demand of EOS Members, and when such proposals might support the activity of the EOS working groups.
  • Contribute to establishing links between the cybersecurity working group and its members on one hand, and external Bodies, including ECSO, also active with the European Institutions’ (e.g. EUROPOL, ENISA etc.) and Member State organisations (e.g. French ANSSI) operating in the field of cybersecurity, in accordance and coordination with EOS members already having such relationships on a national basis.
  • Closely follow the activity of ECSO, the private body supporting the cybersecurity Public-Private Partnership with the Commission, and cooperate with the specific WGs, bringing the EOS position (including that of the EOS cybersecurity WG) for the specific topics (linked to research and industrial policy)
  • Link with Members of the European Parliament to support EOS strategy and recommendations in the cybersecurity and cybercrime domain.
This individual reports directly to the CEO of EOS.
Qualifications / Experience:
  • Experience in managing EU-funded projects and proposal-writing for a minimum of two years.
  • Experience in research, policy and/or business relationships with EU bodies for a minimum of two years.
  • Strong knowledge of European Institutions’ mechanisms and European funding schemes.
  • Good understanding of European policies in the field of cybersecurity/cybercrime as well as their overlapping with counter-terrorism activities.
  • Ability to convene and facilitate group discussions.
  • Quick, clear and concise drafting and reporting skills.
  • Ability to network and build relationships with external organisations.
  • Proactive and flexible.
  • IT-skills: Advanced use of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel).
  • Excellent English verbal & written communication skills; ability to work in other European languages is an asset.
