Senior Policy Adviser CBI

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Policy Adviser to come and work for the CBI in its Brussels Office.

  • Could you influence policymakers in government and the European Institutions?
  • Could you build relationships with business leaders?
  • Do you want to work in a varied and lively environment?
  • Does the chance to make a difference appeal to you?

If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these, you’ll love working for the CBI.

The CBI is the UK's leading business lobbying organisation and a powerful voice in EU policy debates. Reporting to the Director of the Brussels office, the Brussels role will require a self motivated individual with a strong record in identifying and tracking legislative developments at EU level as well as lobbying the EU institutions and influencing legislative debates.

With CBI member interests covering a vast array of policy areas, policy advisers are responsible for a wide range of lobbying campaigns at any one time. Some of our current priorities include contributing to EU debates on environment, energy and climate change, financial services, trade and social policy to name but a few.

Interested candidates will have a keen interest in as well as an understanding of British politics and the UK’s position within the EU, business priorities within a European context, public policy and EU

politics.

Candidates must be able to identify and develop business-led solutions to public policy issues as well as being able to find new and innovative ways of communicating the views of business to EU decision-makers.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their potential to contribute to the CBI’s policy campaigns and lobbying objectives, promote and defend the interests of business and be confident working collaboratively with the CBI’s UK policy teams to advise and support CBI members at a senior level.
