Community Relations Manager Australia-New South Wales-Cowal

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Community Relations Manager. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be accountable for and champion, implementing the Cowal Gold Mine Community Relations Strategy.

This career defining role will suit strategically focused and highly motivated professionals with superior communication skills and a track record of exceeding expectations. Your experience will have been developed through implementing Community Relations strategies and policies, preferably within heavy industry such as mining or oil and gas. This position would suit individuals who are excited by the challenges of enhancing Cowal’s community reputation and working with Barrick locally, regionally and globally to improve Community Relations.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Promoting and enhancing the company’s reputation and relationship with the broader community and stakeholders through positive consultation, proactive engagement and compliance with relevant legislation and permitting conditions

· Coordinating cultural heritage matters ensuring compliance with relevant NSW legislation and Cultural Heritage Management Systems.

· Managing the ongoing implementation and compliance of the Wiradjuri Native Title Agreement

· Managing the implementation of the Barrick ‘Community Relations Management System’ (CRMS) at Cowal.

· Managing stakeholder engagement for the project through community meetings, media, publications and site visits.

· Work with relevant Government Departments and consultants to ensure necessary project approvals are achieved.

· Manage and lead a small team of community relations practitioners

Experience & Requirements

· A minimum of ten years industry experience in Community Relations.

· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), negotiation skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead and influence others.
