AusAID Gender Specialist
AusAID is establishing the Aid Advisory Services Standing Offer, comprising multiple service categories, to support the effective delivery of the Australian aid program. AusAID, other Commonwealth agencies, and other official development assistance (ODA) organisations will be able to source quality technical expertise through this arrangement. GRM International is seeking expression of interest from highly qualified and motivated Gender Specialist, who will enhance the quality and effectiveness of Australia's aid program by providing high quality gender equality advice to country and regional programs and program enabling areas. Panel members may undertake policy, research and knowledge sharing activities as well as participate in program strategy, design, monitoring and evaluation tasks. Indicative Services: 1. Providing strategic in-depth quality advice in line with international good practice to country and sectoral programs on implementing and integrating AusAID’s gender equality policy. 2. Assisting in the development, implementation and integration of AusAID's gender equality strategies, action plans and policies, including in thematic areas. 3. Undertaking research on gender issues, including in specific country contexts. 4. Participating in design and M&E processes, including developing tools and guidelines, completing quality at entry and quality at implementation reports and participating in peer reviews. 5. Undertaking field missions to support country programs in their gender equality work. 6. Delivering short term advice to Australian Government agencies and departmental staff and partner organisations, including responding to queries, commenting on documents, participating in meetings or otherwise as required. 7. Carrying out gender assessments and stocktakes for country and thematic programs.
Selection Criteria: Essential 1. Experience working on gender equality in a development context.
Desirable 2. Relevant postgraduate qualifications. 3. Specialisations in relation to gender and specific sectors including education, economic development health, governance, rural development, climate change and environment and humanitarian responses. 4. Expertise across the regions in which the Australian aid program operates including Africa, Middle East, Asia, South East Asia, the Pacific and Central and South America.
