Director, Office of Human Resources

UNDP is in the process of aligning the Human Resource Strategy with the Business Strategy of the organization and the Director, Office of Human Resources (OHR) is playing a central role in the organization’s strategy development process. UNDP is developing a People Capability Strategy which seeks to define what needs to be in place in terms of talent leadership and organization as part of this process. This implies continuous change management on the part of human resources leadership developing the capabilities of the function in line with the strategy.

The persons appointed to these positions at this juncture are entering at a critical and exciting stage in UNDP.

The Director, Office of Human Resources (OHR) reporting to the Assistant Administrator and Director, Bureau of Management, is responsible for facilitating the development of the People Capability Strategy and supporting its implementation and the continued modernization of OHR with people management as a strategic function in the organization, adopting best practices. He/she also manages the key functional areas of OHR in collaboration with the Deputy and the rest of the team.

The OHR Director is a member of UNDP’s Organizational Performance Group.

The Director must be the face of UNDP in the UN common system effectively advocating the organization’s vision to influence and secure policy and institutional outcomes that allow UNDP to fulfil its mandate.

The Director must have an advanced degree and 15 years of experience, including extensive senior management strategy formation and change management experience, and exposure to best practices in human resources management.
