DONATIONS OFFICER, DUBLIN

The role of the donations department is to receive, accurately record, and acknowledge all donations to GOAL. GOAL uses Donor Strategy software in conjunction with Microsoft Office products to record donations, generate acknowledgments, and for internal reporting purposes.

GOAL receives donations via cash, cheque, credit card, standing order, bank giro deposits and on-line donations. These are received from individuals, corporate donors, schools and other community groups. The donations section can be especially busy during media campaigns and in response to fund-raising events. It is essential that all details of donations received are recorded with the utmost accuracy.



Key Responsibilities:
• Open and distribute post on a daily basis
• Receive donations via telephone and from personal callers to the office
• Data entry of all donations to the donations database, by manual input
• Activation of new standing order donations
• Produce letters of thanks and acknowledgement to donors
• Advise and encourage donors in respect of the tax rebate scheme for charities
• Ensure data integrity of donations database



Person Specification:
• Excellent organisational skills
• Very strong commitment to accuracy and attention to detail
• Minimum three years experience in an office environment
• Strong IT skills. The role will entail extensive use of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Explorer, and Outlook
• Minimum of three years experience in the use of accounting or similar database systems
• Ability to work well under pressure, unsupervised, and as part of a team
• Excellent telephone & interpersonal manner
• Excellent written communication skills
