Salary is in the range £39,146 to £46,300 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.

Royal Holloway, University of London, invites applications for a Lecturer in Drama and Theatre, with a particular role in helping to support the rapidly growing area of Applied Theatre work in the Department. The post will be tenable from 1 September 2012.

The Department of Drama and Theatre is one of the leading Drama Departments in the country, with 24 academic members of staff and an active research culture and postgraduate community. We have multiple close connections with the theatre industry and local communities and we demonstrate in all of our work a strong commitment to joining a broad public in the widest possible conversation about the place, value and significance of theatre and performance. The College is investing in Drama and Theatre by building a new state-of-the-art theatre, to be opened in early 2013.

The Department has a strong reputation for its work in Applied Theatre and we are seeking a to make a dynamic and creative appointment who can help support this growing area. This will include teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, PhD supervision, and continue fostering links with appropriate external arts and governmental organizations and community groups. The successful candidate will be an active member of the Departmental team, contributing more generally to departmental teaching, research and planning and will continue to pursue their own research and publication career.

The successful candidate will have a PhD and experience of high quality teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. You will be developing a record of good research publication and have a proven ability to foster close teaching and research links with relevant external organisations.
