Motor Pool Supervisor / Driver
Position: ADE-A16 Motor Pool Supervisor / Driver, FSN-7, FP-7*
Opening date: March 9th, 2012.

Work hours: Full-time; 40 hours/week
Salary: *Not-Ordinarily Resident: Starting Salary and Position Grade FP-7 to be confirmed by Washington.
Ordinarily Resident: $221,877.50 pesos per year (FSN-7 starting salary)

The U.S. Embassy in Mexico City is seeking an individual for the position of Motor Pool Supervisor / Driver
Basic function of position
This position plans, directs and coordinates motor pool operations and maintenance for an agency vehicle fleet which is currently comprised of official government vehicles (OGV). The employee will supervise two LES drivers and one LES mechanic, will also serve as a driver for the transportation of personnel and official visitors, coordinate assignments for the drivers and mechanic on a daily basis, and schedule available vehicles for transportation requests of personnel and official visitors. The incumbent will respond to emergency vehicle/driver needs by adjusting normal motor pool employee schedules / work hours as necessary. The employee will have responsibility for the timely submission of repair/parts/fuel receipts to the Administrative Officer for the preparation of motor vehicle reports and will certify overtime and time and attendance reports for motor pool personnel. The employee will have overall responsibility for procurement of parts, fuel and other automotive services, and payment for these items and services with the fleet cards consistent with USG regulations and will ensure that repairs to OGVs have been done correctly and in a timely matter.
Qualifications

- Completion of high school is required
- Three or more years of “no-accident” driving experience with at least one year supervisory experience required. Auto mechanic troubleshooting experience is required.
- Level III (good working knowledge) English and level IV (fluent) Spanish are required. (See section “To Apply” on pg. 2 for test instructions.)
- Must be proficient in MS Office Word and Excel.
Selection process
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
All applicants must pass a rigorous Security Certification process.

Additional Selection Criteria
Applicants are required to sign a drug statement regarding any prior drug usage before they can be considered for the job. Appointment of the position will depend on the result of the drug statement.
All candidates for employment must pass a background check or security investigation. The security process may take up to three (3) months to complete and the applicant cannot begin work until the clearance process is finished. The applicant must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
If these requirements are not fulfilled, the clearance will not be obtained.

- Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
- Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar
days of their employment.
- Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions
within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work
schedule.
- All Locally Employed Staff (LES) who have less than one year working in a position are not eligible to apply.
- In adherence to the recent guidance from the government of Mexican (GOM) to comply with the Mexican Nationality Law, all Mexican-American dual nationals need to be aware that they will be recognized as Mexican nationals by the GOM. Dual nationals are hereby advised that this may affect their application for employment as well as their application for security certification. Until further guidance is received from the Legal Office of the State Department, EFMs will continue to be hired under the American Pay Plan; however, should the new policy be implemented, their appointment may change to the Local Compensation Plan.
