Project Analyst

IITA is an international non-profit research-for-development (R4D) organization created in 1967, governed by a Board of Trustees, and supported primarily by the Consultative Group of International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). Our R4D is anchored on the development needs of sub-Saharan Africa. We develop agricultural solutions with our partners to tackle hunger and poverty by reducing producer and consumer risks, enhancing crop quality and productivity, and generating wealth from agriculture. We have more than 100 internationally recruited scientists from about 35 countries and 900 nationally recruited staff based in various stations across Africa.

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable Nigerian Nationals for the following position at the Institute’s Headquarters, Ibadan.

Duties

Successful candidate will among other things:

  • Prepare and review financial statements;
  • Check, process and report on returns and provide justifications for funds granted to IITA collaborators/partners;
  • Raise journals for necessary adjustments on various accounts and load some on oracle interface;
  • Attend to queries raised by budget officers on restricted projects;
  • Update, review and reconcile bill receivables from donors with the total grant income of restricted projects;
  • Assist in the preparation of overhead charges to restricted projects;
  • Assist in the checking of Cashier’s cash balances as scheduled;
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor;

Qualification and Experience

B.Sc/ HND in Accounting with at least PE II ICAN.

Minimum of 4 years working experience in a related role.

The ideal candidate must

  • Be honest, trustworthy and hardworking.
  • Be a good team player and demonstrate ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Have interest in studying and interpreting MoU from donors.
  • Be willing to put in extra hours when the need arises.
