Projects Manager Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine

Salary: £31,020 - £35,939 per annum (pro rata for part time working)
Fixed term appointment for 12 months
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Projects Manager to oversee the management and delivery of projects funded through external grants. The projects will involve the development to agreed timelines and milestones of new educational, applied research and institutional development initiatives in the health field.
Reporting to Dr A Hassan, principal duties will be focused on: monitoring and facilitating the achievement of deliverables as agreed with recipients and sponsors; contributing to and supervision of all managerial and logistical support; developing systems for managing the implementation and delivery of projects which will include monitoring the projects' performance against agreed outputs and review on a regular basis.
It is essential that you are educated to degree level or have equivalent experience from working in a similar environment. You should also have substantial managerial experience in the health and/or higher education (medical) institutions fields. Proven experience of managing complex international programmes along with demonstrable experience of delivering project objectives/milestones against performance key indicators are prerequisites for the role.
The post will require the following skills and experience:-
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship management and organisational skills
- Strong administrative and time management skills with proven success of delivering results
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in spreadsheets, internet use and visual presentations
- Research and analytical skills with the ability to assess information from a variety of sources
- Proven ability of establishing, reviewing and monitoring administrative systems in an office environment
The post is offered initially on a 12 month fixed term contract working 50% FTE (requests for 40-60% FTE may be considered). Some overseas travel will be required as part of the role.
