Regional Enterprise Development Portfolio Coordinator
2-year fixed-term contract (with possibility of extension after review)
MXN629.775 to MXN 881.685 gross per annum (international package will be offered to expatriate candidates)
Mexico D.F.
At Oxfam, we give the world’s poorest communities the tools they need to help themselves out of poverty. Investing in small, sustainable businesses, our Enterprise Development Programme (EDP) has a huge social and economic impact. Lead its growth in Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC) and so will you.
The role
As the LAC EDP portfolio lead, you’ll coordinate, grow and improve the performance of our investments. Travelling widely throughout the region, you’ll have regular meetings with both enterprise staff and our own people. And, as you provide incisive advice and expert support, you’ll make sure everyone benefits from your commercial know-how. You’ll also feed learning back to Oxfam and track and report on the business, financial and social progress of the portfolio – making sure that key issues like gender equality are being developed. But you won’t stop there. Taking the lead in new investment proposal development, you’ll grow the portfolio while strengthening and expanding our relationships with the regional enterprise development and impact investment sectors. Representing us to key groups, you’ll build a multi-stakeholder support system linking investment funds, technical assistance and capacity development. The impact on our projects will be huge. But the impact on individuals, communities and economies will be far more profound.
What we’re looking for
As you would expect, we’re looking for a leader with exceptional financial management and enterprise investment experience. A proven project manager with a background in philanthropic investments and gender, enterprise development and rights-based poverty alleviation, you’ll understand the importance of reporting project finances. You’ll also understand the socio-economic context of LAC and have a history of working within the region. You’ll therefore have fluent communication and report writing skills in in both English and Spanish. And if you have a working knowledge of French, so much the better.
About Oxfam
A simple, inescapable truth underlines everything we do at Oxfam. There’s enough wealth in this world to go around. It’s not unfortunate that people live in poverty. It’s unjustifiable. It’s not just their problem. It’s ours too. And with the right support, we can beat poverty and injustice. Thousands of people already commit their time and talents to our campaigning, humanitarian and long-term development projects. Now we’re looking for yours.
